Invasive Non-Native Species

There are close to 1000 non-native species in Scotland and most don’t cause any problems. A small number do and these are known as invasive non-native species. Invasive non-native species cause huge problems for our native wildlife and often have an impact on the economy. It is estimated that invasive species cost the British economy £1.7 billion every year.
